Luna Cafe

For the past few weeks or so, I seem to miss working out whether it is lifting weights from participating in the Group exercises in Fitness First (Where my cousin used to tag me along as his guest when it’s my off), from the swimming and kick boxing sessions I used to do every Wednesday and Friday before I started my MBA in Ateneo or from my usual running around the Fort with my workmates and friends after work. I don’t really get to work out a lot now due to my back aching from time to time and I’m usually tired already by the time I want to work out so on one particular weekday Pat and I decided to come out for a quick run along the Fort.

He went to my workplace and as I regaled him of my stories of how my day went, we decided to eat out first then go jogging afterwards since we were both hungry already and we couldn’t function well running low on carbohydrates and food. We came across this new joint, well for me it’s new since I noticed it just recently so we decided to give it a try. It’s called “Luna Cafe” owned by no less than one of our classmates from MBA Fille and her husband Lino Cayetano.

The place gives off a cozy and laid back vibe, it was just a small cafe adorned with brick lined walls and wooden furniture. Their bartenders and staff are very accommodating I must say, they even take time to explain to you about your order if you have further questions about the names on the menu.

Since we were already starving after a long working day, we decided to order their esteemed rice meals I had the Pares and Pat had his favorite Corned Beef. They even gave us a free pie for our dessert! 🙂

I had this for my meal, the beef was quite unique I must say since their tapa is quite hard to chew and it seems like its tapa and tocino in one. Pat had the Angus beef Pares for his dish which he said was quite good since it wasn’t your usual Pares and comes off with an authentic taste. Their dessert was very sour and sweet hence the name. Overall this was a great find and if you just want to have some quality time with your friends and talk over cups of coffee and sweet treats then this is the place to be.

Then afterwards, the boyfriend came up with a sweet surprise for me. He actually serenaded me in the cafe then we strolled towards the park in the Fort where we just spent some quality time together while him singing songs for me on his guitar and while we were watching the other runners circle the whole circumference of the park.

We posed with the Taken sign on this cafe. How cute are their signages
