“What started off as a family pastime for a mother and daughter tandem has now developed into a full fledged bakery café business with the aim of satisfying our customers’ cravings for traditional home cooked meals and fresh out of the oven pastries and baked goodies.”
I got this from their website. Since it’s quite a rare occasion that all four of us are together on a weekend (Me, Mom, Krizel and Mikey) because I usually have work on the weekends or Mom has a trip out of town due to work. We decided to head out after much resting at home to bond and beautify ourselves. 🙂 Mom had her hair washed and colored while my sister had her nails treated to a posh manicure while my baby brother had his hair trimmed since he was bored with watching all of us girls pampering ourselves and he was left to his own devices to entertain himself. (Haha! Sorry Mikey that’s one of the perks of living in a household full of girls).
I on the other hand was having so much fun poring through the magazine glossies while I had my hair hot oiled, my hands manicured and my feet soaked in their relaxing foot spa which comes along with a little massage. “(This is the life!)” My thought to myself exactly while my feet were being massaged by the staff of their parlor. Since usually our busy lives takes a toll on us that we actually forget what is essential to us.
What really is essential to us? It is the relationships you build with people and also how you value them especially your “family”. I couldn’t have asked for a more loving one than the one I already have. (Feeling Blessed Haha!)
Anyway, I have so much to say that I’m veering off topic here so since we got done with the parlor past 6pm already. Wow! that long! 😀 We decided to have dinner somewhere near since I was still going to meet up with Pat to do our project in Marketing. (Him doing the video editing while I do my part in our Final Paper such as targeting, profiling, and segmenting our target customers.) After much deliberation on what restaurant we must pick we eventually ended up in (Guess where?) Of course the title of this post is such a give away. 🙂 Mom and Tina’s along Pasig.
Can I just say that the place was very homey in appearance! 😀 It’s like being invited over for some cookies and tea by a sosyal friend since there were plants, wooden tables with table cloths, couches, tea pots and tea cups adorning their tables and the venue. The lighting was also very cozy and conducive to relaxing. Since the queue was very long, we decided to wait it out and grab our desserts first while waiting to be seated. We had the carrot cake muffin and some sansrival along with Mom’s crinkles. (This is the new way of eating, dessert comes first before the main meal). Haha.
Just when I thought we would wait it out a little longer there was a seat which was already vacated. Well, hello there! 😀 So we were seated and I asked the waiter “How long is the serving time?” He told me our orders would take around 10-15 minutes only. Wow! That was fast! 😀 I presume that they already had the ingredients prepared beforehand and they just heat it or mix it up when the customers order.
Overall it was a great experience for us and our stomach’s were filled. Since this was my treat to them and I was on a budget my 1000 Peso budget just fit perfectly right into this place.
