Me and my friends are quite different in more ways than one but what binds us together is our ultimate love for adventure and trying out new things. YOLO! 😀 You only live once right? So anyway, moving on we heard about this new place that recently opened in both Eastwood and Jupiter Street in Makati at the old RCBC building (note: I was already spooked upon entering the vicinity since the place was quite dilapidated and outdated which adds up to the creepy feel of the place, the elevator too was sort of an old school lift which bores an uncanny resemblance to the one in most horror flicks that I watched). Too much movies I guess! 🙂
Anyway, since we all came from work we decided to get us a booking at roughly around 7:30 pm. We actually came in early at 7pm last night October 6, 2014 (Monday) and after waiting it out while taking some shots of the place. We were briefed about what to expect upon entering the pitch black room by their attendants. One was even named Lupin! 😀 Cool name right? :D. They were really cool and calm amidst all our apprehensions and they even shared their own experiences when they went inside the room! 🙂 (This added to our anticipation of the next events which are to unfold in the next couple of minutes!).
I was left at a loss as to what to expect since I haven’t read anything about the place and what will happen to us in a span of an hour. My friends just told me before heading there that it was going to be fun since we get to play detectives for real as we carefully go about the room searching for clues no matter how subtle and some clandestine activities which then could lead us to figure a way out and also to shed light to all our unanswered questions.
Upon entering Rebecca’s room, we were all quite spooked since there was a chilly and creepy feel to the place. It was like someone was perched somewhere on the room and were looking at us directly! You should definitely try this out! (Note: This game is not for the faint hearted and for those claustrophobic people since you’re all going to be stuck in one pitch black dark room for a span of an hour until you solve the case.) Play at your own risk.
I would not be a spoiler here and dish out what we encountered and how we solved the mystery. Yes! You read it right! 😉 We solved the mystery! 🙂 Whohoo! Booyeah! 😀 Out of all the teams and groups of friends which came in to play the game that day we were the only team who came out victorious! 🙂 Great feat! 🙂 Good job guys! 😀 and due to that we were granted the rare privilege to purchase their shirt for 300 bucks which wasn’t granted to those who did not came out victorious.
If you solve the mystery in a span of 30 minutes then you get a shirt for a prize, a pen if you solve it in 40 minutes and a sticker if you solve it before 60 minutes. We totaled 48 minutes all in all! 🙂 But since we asked for 2 clues from Lupin they sanctioned us by adding 10 minutes to our time for a total of 58 minutes. 😦
It was a real test of friendship, leadership, courage, coordination, calm amidst the panic and the stress and also a test of having faith in each other and in yourself. You have to keep your eyes on the goal no matter what! Our goal was to solve the mystery in the fastest time possible and eventually we emerged victorious! 😀
I would love to try out their other rooms in the coming days! 🙂 Ask yourself this question first before deciding to push through with this game.
