Celebrating Bonifacio Day the BGC Way! BGC Passionfest 2014!

November is Bonifacio Month! 🙂 Since one of our highly esteemed and courageous national heroes is to be remembered this month. Who is it? You may ask? Well my dear, it’s non less than Andres Bonifacio who braved the Spanish colonial rule and started out the KKK fighting for our freedom and democracy against the shackles that these Spaniards tried to pin on us. (Shout out to the Filipino People!)

I love the Fort!! 🙂 Not only does it boast of rich establishments which will surely tinker your fancy but also it offers a wide array of services and awesome food stalls and joints wherein you can just drink some beers and have a good laugh with your buddies on a Friday night out. The lush green parks are also a place to jog and leisurely walk around the place when you want to release all those pent up stress from the daily grind of your workplace and your life.

BGC now converts the typical fun run into  a fast paced city wide puzzle where BGC holds the pieces. Teams for RUN BGC 2014: Urban Adventure have to solve mind boggling clues, tackle exciting challenges and play to win for amazing loots and prizes!! (Now tell me who wouldn’t love that?).

I was fortunate enough to be invited as one of their Media Bloggers last week alongside other TV Networks, Magazine Editors and  some crew from Fox Channel to cover the press launch of this exciting, fun filled and much anticipated and awaited event. The BGC Passionfest, held for the past 2 years, may well be Bonifacio Global City’s (in Taguig) version of its “town fiesta”, this event is a surefire way to get the adrenaline in your veins pumping since it’s replete with entertainment, art and food exhibits, parades, sports, shopping and other outdoor activities.

Celebrate Passion! :D
Celebrate Passion! 😀

Get the ball rolling with this year’s Passionfest which will be held on November 28, 29 and 30, 2014 and  is themed A BONI-FIDE URBAN FIESTA which will offer a breathtaking showcase of local performers and exhibitors alike.

Kick starting this fiesta will be on November 28, the three-day celebration begins with a Kick-Off Street Party where Bonifacio High Street literally comes to life with colorful Filipino dances staged in a bright parade at night.   The grand street party also signals the start of the much-awaited Supremo Sale, opening the doors to the numerous participating BGC stores.

November 29 ushers in Run BGC with this year’s theme: Urban Adventure.  Participants in groups of 10 must explore the city and its key features with obstacles and challenges to complete the mind-and-body experience. I personally would definitely love to try this one out! 😀 (Time to text your friends and loved ones for this adventure!).

Also happening on the 29th will be the showcasing of the vast array of  street food such as kwek-kwek, fish balls, inihaw goodies are to be served on 9th Avenue while stations where local games of our childhood like patintero, chinese garter, pabitin, tirador and tumbang preso  are made available.

Meanwhile, Filipino creativity will also be patronized and showcased thru shows, workshops and exhibits –  Close Engkantos of the Christmas Kind: A Musical, an all-Pinoy BGC Art Mart, Jeepney Sign Art, DIY Saranggola, Chalk the Walk and various musical performances will be gracing the event.

For those science and Einstein lovers alike, a Filipino Science Show will be conducted by The Mind Museum, demonstrating unique exhibits like Liquid Nitrogen Sorbetes, Apoy na Bahaghari: Science behind Fireworks, Sunugin ang Cedula! At ang Sweldo! (Burn Your Money Filipino Edition), Ang Agham ng Panahon: Science behind Weather

Happening also on November 30, will be the second annual Parada de Kalesa which will showcase dressed up kalesas available to take guests around BGC.

How can you be part of this awesome adventure you may ask? Well instructions are simple for the BGC Passionfest will be enjoyed through availing the BoniFiesta Passport. This could be availed by purchasing Php 1,500 pesos worth of single receipt purchase from any retail stores or restaurants in Bonifacio High Street, One Parkade, Two Parkade, Bonifacio Stopover, Crossroads, and The Fort Entertainment Complex at a given time only. 😀 This passport will entitle you to different freebies and participate in the various art activities.
