Food Review: Tipsy Pig Gastropub in Capitol Commons

This 2015 a slew of new restaurants are awaiting my gastronomic senses since another new joint invited us to do a food review on their newly opened place so I guess another food adventure is about to begin. Such a good start for my 2015 πŸ™‚ Hope it all continues.

Let me start off this year with one of the restaurants that we dined in last December 30, 2014 along the confines of Capitol Commons! πŸ™‚ Tipsy Pig Gastropub! πŸ™‚ Yey! πŸ™‚

We long planned to eat here even before however due to its long queues and the surge of people lining up to get served and accommodated we opted for another less crowded but equally excellent by taste in the form of Sentro. :)It was a good fix for us and we were filled to the brim πŸ˜‰ However, after a few more months we soon forgot about our desire to dine in Tipsy Pig since I don’t usually pass by Capitol Commons often.

So when we got the chance we grabbed it and let their food do the talking for us. So here goes.

This new gastropub is another partnership by the owners of URBN and other well known establishments in the Metro nowadays.Β  TIPSY PIG is known for its signature brews, extensive drink selection, and good food selection. The name is inspired by the after effects of alcohol and the food they want to be known for.

This pub isΒ  conveniently located beside Black Olive and across Nomama at the new Capitol Commons lifestyle community developed by Ortigas & Co.

Overall, the food was great! πŸ™‚ We were satisfied and filled to the brim afterwards! πŸ™‚ What a heavy but delectable dinner πŸ™‚ Plus P had two servings of rice so he was more filled up after πŸ™‚ We had to recourse to sipping some hot chamomile tea afterwards to aid in our digestion from the heavy dinner we just consumed. πŸ™‚

Their Steak was okay I guess, I found it to be a tad hard to masticate and mince into smaller bite sized pieces plus the taste of somewhat charcoal was quite evident but their sauce made up for it. I especially loved the mashed potato which came along with this dish I think it had a generous mix of cheese and cream on it because it was so soft and so tasty! πŸ™‚ One of my ultimate faves already! πŸ™‚ I guess it was love at first taste haha. Their Iced Tea meanwhile was a bit too saturated with artificial sweetener so I requested for water instead soon after. πŸ™‚

Their Mussels was also one for the books since I loved how the melted cheese seemed to leave an impact on my taste buds.

Tipsy Pig’s extensive list of signature brews and alcoholic drinks is one of the reasons why they have such a loyal following. It has a nice ambiance, great drinks to satiate your thirst and food to quell your hunger.BudgetΒ  will be around P700/person for drinks + food.
