Food Review: Zaifu

As I was sitting on our lazy boy chair while munching on my ordered stuffed crust pizza and watching previous episodes of “Revenge”. I was definitely having a good time as my back was relaxed as it was massaged  up and down and back and forth by this new device I attached in front of the lazy boy seat. I recalled my recent food venture at Zaifu and decided to blog about it.
I was craving for Japanese food this one fine night after class and what better way to satiate my hunger than venturing off into Zaifu which was conveniently located at the basement of Rockwell Powerplant Mall. You can choose from their wide array of choices such as the maki, ramen, tempura, donburi and sukiyaki.

One of the things I like about the place is the ambiance since it is a mix of the casual dining place yet very traditional dining setting since you get to be seated in their carpeted floors wherein you can easily cross your legs and do an “Indian Sit” just like what I did. It was very casual and cozy setting and their servers were quite attentive to our needs always refilling to our cups of tea and other additional orders.

We had their set meals as usual, I went for the ” Ebi Tempura” set which came in with of course my favorite tempura, some vegetables to come along with it, some white rice,  their own version of a scrambled egg which was shaped in a heart and was served quite cold but nonetheless I still ate it 🙂 we also ordered my favorite Buko Juice for my refreshment and also a refillable pot of hot chamomile tea which we definitely savored with delight.
The food was okay, nothing really spectacular but quite good value for your money since it’s very affordable and you can easily cozy up to the homey feel and ambiance of the place with these cool seats. One great venue to just talk about your day and discuss other pertinent matters and exchange stories with your friends in between sipping hot cups of tea. 🙂 They even gave us a complimentary chocolate ice cream for dessert! 🙂 How’s that for a night cap? 🙂
We were supposed to watch a good movie however due to time constraints and since I also had work early again the next day and had to be up by 6am or earlier again as usual we just decided to head home after a full meal and get a good night’s rest.
