Anniversary Date at Lasema Korean Body Spa and Sauna

Since I am still trying to catch up with my backlog with regards to blogging since obviously I missed this big time! 🙂 I will start with baby steps and will publish at least one post per day to keep you updated on what adventures and new finds I embarked on for the past months or so.

So for starters let me first start with an overdue post which happened last April 2015. We just recently celebrated our anniversary P and me. Another achievement unlocked for us and because of that I would like to add another song here in this post which greatly encapsulates the year that has been for us.

This was actually the backgrounder song here in our blog when we started it back in 2014. We love John Legend and his classic timeless pieces which hits close to the emotion and tugs on your heartstrings to be moved by the message of every tune and video.

Anyway, since I’m offsetting at work tomorrow due to my overtime work last week wherein I hosted two consecutive events for our company they let me offset tomorrow to make up for my overtime hours spent last week! 🙂 Yey! Thank you for offsets! 🙂 More time for me to squeeze in a few more rounds of zzz’s and also more time for me to catch up on my blog backlogs.

So without further ado, here goes the first one: Our adventure at Lasema Jjim Jil Bang Spa and Sauna. We both came from work that night and since we were still undecided on where to eat out that night we just opted to get a relaxing massage and perhaps a good body detox to rid ourselves of the toxins we have accumulated in our bodies due to the various food fests that we go to.

We googled the nearest place within the vicinity of the Fort or Makati and decided to test the waters and their services as well so we settled for this Korean Joint in Makati called Lasema (A Korean Sauna and Spa). The receptionist was very accommodating to us as we approached the counter and weighed our options as to the best package for us that would suit both our needs.

She was very informative and gave us directions as to where to proceed soon after we decided to get one of their packages which contained a dip in their “healing” pools contained of various herbs and teas like the jasmine pool and the green tea pool which I think is quite good for your skin and offers other health benefits as well. We were both given some sort of bracelets which served as our locker keys and our shirt and shorts for the night. Good thing we both came on a weekday night since not a lot of people were there and we had a lot of space to try out their amenities.

This is the pink top and shorts that they provide to their clients with it also comes a towel to wipe off the sweat that you will perspire later as you try their various saunas of intensifying heat.

Being the curious kids that we were, we both subjected ourselves to the various heat intensities of the 3 sauna rooms starting from the most mild, to the moderate one wherein we even lied down like we were sleeping while being burned beside the furnace since the heat seemed to mimic that of a fireplace and then went to their hottest room wherein soon after entering beads of perspiration were immediately percolating through my porous pores haha. It was like being burned on the spot, but you get used to the heat once you stay longer or for as long as you can tolerate the heat. There is an hourglass timer on each room for you to test your tolerance and also for you to time yourself in your stay there.

We ate Ramen and had some Tea also there in the common room since there was a counter nearby who serves Korean dishes and charges it to your locker key number. The tea was definitely refreshing and delightful since it was almost iced cold when served to me and tend to taste like lemongrass tea.

On the far end of the common are was a room with a large aquarium, lined with bookshelves of comic books it was filled with lazy boy seats wherein you can just relax and unwind after the sweltering sauna session. There were also cushioned caves where you can rest for the night since some packages can last to as long as 12 hours. Some of the guests were just happily munching on their snacks while watching tv in the common area.

Since we wanted to let off some steam and cool ourselves we headed to the ice room which had the effect of closing your open pores due to the freezing temperate of the room filled with ice blocks and cold steam.

Had a relaxing massage soon after at the girls quarters and just met P outside after the relaxing body massage. Definitely a great way to detox and relax!
