Last week I was invited to attend this food tasting event in SM Megamall and since it was near my workplace and it was due at around 6pm I was just in time to make it to the venue. I didn’t really know what to expect since I wasn’t really familiar with the name “Hattendo” however upon arriving at the venue a little past 6pm I was jovially escorted and greeted by their Marketing Manager Ms. Kat and their PR Manager Ms. Cherry and they had me try their product first.
I was quite reluctant at first since I wasn’t familiar with the brand but nonetheless I gave it a try and honestly, it was like love at first bite! 🙂 I am not exaggerating here (Well maybe a little) but to tell you quite honestly they are really good! 🙂 Try it out for yourselves too! The soft cushion like buns upon thawing from the freezer contained various flavors ranging from custard, mango, chocolate, sweet red bean, mango, chestnut to whipped cream and the delectable matcha flavored buns 🙂 It kind of bears a little resemblance to the Pastel from Davao however unlike the caramel like filling it offers this one is best served chilled and has various flavors to cater to your preference 🙂
After the taste test we were given a little backgrounder on this awesome buns! 🙂 I learned that it comes directly from Japan! 🙂 How cool is that? You get a taste of their culture in just one bite 🙂 since all the buns are baked in Japan and just go through a special freezing process for International shipping.
I was so captivated by it’s taste I decided to buy one box for P’s family as well so they can taste this new discovery of mine. Upon posting it on my Facebook account friends after a few seconds messaged me and commented on my post about this new delectable treat that I happened to stumble upon on! 🙂 That’s when I knew that I hit gold! 🙂 haha. Despite it being a tad pricey since it’s around 100 bucks per piece I can guarantee you of it’s impeccable quality as long as you follow the directions at the back of the bun carefully and also it’s taste is really to die for 🙂 I will definitely keep coming back for more. 🙂
