One of my unsung heroes are probably those teachers who have honed us to the persons we are today. Back in the grades when I used to be scolded by my teachers for being so playful and garrulous on various subjects.
I didn’t really see the value in them undermining or reprimanding me. However as time came to pass I now have realized the value our teachers play on society.
We would not be here in the first place without them since most of our values are formed in school aside from the household and they serve as our secondary parents whenever we are in school 🙂 Same as with 51 Talk they gave due recognition to our hardworking teachers last week at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. See the video below 🙂
In celebration of National Teachers’ Month, 51Talk paid tribute to its teachers through the #51TalkTeacherStory contest. The contest encouraged e-Educators to share their experiences as an online teacher.
The entries were judged based on uniqueness, inspirational appeal, and
over-all impact of 250 entries from all over the Philippines.
With their commendable communication skills, Filipinos are proven to be one of the best teachers of the English language,” shared Jen Que,Vice President for Philippine Operations. “It was hard picking the top 3 entries. We admire their
patience, passion, and perseverance in making a difference in the lives of our students and providing for their families.”
So without further ado, here are our winners! 🙂 Yey! 🙂 Congrats teachers !:)
The 3rd place winner is Teacher Amorlove from Cebu, who managed to balance her time as a persevering Architecture student and a passionate teacher through 51Talk. Being a student herself, she understands her students’ passion for learning. This always inspires to put her heart in every teaching session.
Coming in 2nd place is Teacher Lilydale, who found her most rewarding job as a single mother and an online English educator. Working from home gave Teacher Lilydale the best of both worlds by being able to spend time with her son. Teaching English online not only gave her a fulfilling job, but also granted her the chance to
always be present for her son and take care of him.
Winning the contest at 1st place is Teacher Moyee, who helped her student overcome his nervousness. She started talking to him about his interests and other topics that he’s comfortable with to ease him into conversing in English.
After a month of lessons and newfound confidence, her student moved to Australia
to pursue a master’s degree.
To date, 51Talk has over 4,000 online ESL teachers all over the Philippines. To know how to be a Home-Based e-Educator, visit 51Talk.com/ph.
