Taking Giving to the Next Level

Since it’s already the BER months and I am feeling the nice, cold weather which makes me smile and snuggle all the more at the break of dawn in my soft, cushiony pillow while sipping some hot milk or chocolate cocoa in the morning when I wake up makes me giddy with excitement as I anticipate the cold, nostalgic mood that December brings:)

I am definitely looking forward to December this year 2015! πŸ™‚ Not only will I get to thank God and the people around me for all the blessings I have received this past year but I will also get to appreciate and recount everything (all the memories which had shaped me more this past year). Everyday is a learning experience to make us better πŸ™‚

One of my favorite, all time Christmas Station Songs which I have in my playlist is the song “Bro, Ikaw ang Star ng Pasko” which was released some time back in 2009 by ABSCBN after our nation went through severe challenges brought about by the calamities we faced as a nation. It talks about how we were able to look at the silver lining of things despite all the hurdles that we have been through and mostly how resilient we are as a people. Here’ s the video ! πŸ™‚ Enjoy singing with me πŸ™‚

Dahil Ikaw Bro ang star ng Pasko πŸ™‚ We should never forget that despite all the insurmountable hurdles and tribulations we think were impossible to handle, again we are alive and facing another amazing year ahead with the power to change our lives for the better πŸ™‚

Anyway moving on, let me share with you first how my family celebrates Christmas every year πŸ™‚ We usually visit the lights, designs and Christmas decors over at the Ayala Triangle or in BGC which are so spectacular!! πŸ™‚ I cannot help but be amazed at the lights which seems to emanate joy and makes us look forward to December πŸ™‚

Then we hear mass in the wee hours of the morning before work and school at 4am in the morning and offer one wish to God that he may grant us that wish for the next year to come :). I make sure to donate my used clothes but still in very god quality to the church or to my chosen charity every year. I also have this charity project every year whether it be helping out baby sit special kids or building houses for those calamity victims or just simply giving out the extra stuff that I have to those in dire need of the basic necessities in life.

Then we head off to my uncle’s place and play bets on who will the winning team be this year since we always hold those parlor games to test who is sharper between the teams composed of our relatives. πŸ™‚ All in the spirit of good fun! πŸ™‚

We also got the chance to be head on head with each other as we battled each other out in various games like Trip to Jerusalem, Stop Dances, Newspaper Dances, Taboo, Charades and Pinoy Henyo! πŸ™‚ Haha! πŸ™‚ Everyone was in fits of laughter soon after! πŸ™‚

We then pray and feast on a delectable spread soon after replete with various specialty dishes of my aunts. πŸ™‚

We then go home soon after anticipating the arrival of Santa in our doorstep filling all of our stockings to the brim with cash and goodies! πŸ™‚ I must confess that until this day and age I still believe in Santa πŸ™‚ But looks like this Christmas I will be the Santa for the kids and for my younger cousins! πŸ™‚

I just wish that I can afford them all the luxuries they want like a new top from Zara or H&M or a new walker perhaps for my Lola or maybe a trip for my Mommy since she had been working so hard all her life to provide for us. Good thing that I am able to help out little by little now that I am already working but I really want to give them the vacation and the stress free week that they deserve before we all rush back to our normal lives working all day and being immersed in our various pursuits. I want to treat them to one of their dream destinations like Korea or Japan just make them happy and stress free while we are on vacation:)
