A lot of things had been going in my life as of late. I still haven’t finished the book I was supposed to read but then again I have to catch up on all my backlogs as the weekend turns to a close and work is again going to resume along with the heavy traffic that comes along with it. Noooo! 😦 (Snap back to reality )

Anyway, without further ado last week I got invited by one of my idols and Food Icons in the Food Blogging Niche.
Guess who? It’s none other than our funny guy next door Richie Zamora from The Pickiest Eater. His funny everyday anecdotes and humor catapulted him into stardom in the blogging industry in just a few years.
Imagine my surprise when he messaged me one day inviting me over to have lunch with their group to review this new Menu that a Well Known Establishment has whipped up for us. 🙂 Of course, who could say no to that! 🙂

So on a fine sunny day I ventured off to Tomas Morato and wazed my way to this restaurant called Lola Cafe and Bar! 🙂 I wasn’t really familiar with the place since I don’t venture that much in the area however upon tasting all their new dishes and additions to their already stellar menu. I would tend to think otherwise, I would definitely recommend this to my friends and family alike.
When I went inside the place, it’s evident that Lola Cafe + Bar used to be a house, which belonged to a tight-knit family since conversations are highly encouraged with the whole set up of the place. When the family’s mother passed away, Howard and his partners were able to convince them to have the house rented out—promising that they would refurbish it and name the restaurant after their mother, Lola. This was one of the things that their Chef briefed us on. 🙂
What started out as a simple menu evolved into more dishes and is constantly evolving until now to cater to the needs and wants of the market. Check out my food photos and how it all went down during that sunny Sunday afternoon. 🙂
I was fortunate enough to have tried their best-selling dishes, from appetizers up to the desserts. Their menu mostly catered to the Filipino taste but with such an uncanny twist to it you couldn’t help but have a second serving! 🙂
Check our their drool worthy delights! 🙂

Since they served up a feast, the most noteworthy for me were these 3! 🙂

I used to love Beef more than anything else but when I tasted this dish! 🙂 I fell in love with vegetables at first bite 🙂 This had the perfect creamy mix along with the right ingredients which rendered this dish very palatable and tasty 🙂

This one rendered me speechless since I could not help getting another serving! 🙂 It was the perfect appetizer for me since it offers a very authentic and unique twist to the sisig and the bone marrow which I usually find in the soupy Bulalo dish which I complement with some condiments.

Of course no meal is complete without my favorite meal ender! 🙂 Introducing this dish replete with freshly picked strawberries from the mountains of Baguio coupled with the creamy whipped cream around the pastry and mixed with the sweet nectar syrup and some cashew nuts topped by a meringue! 🙂 This dish and I were perfectly matched as it made such an impact on my tastebuds that I even recommended this dish to my friends and my Mom when I got home! 🙂
It’s is also an ideal place for an intimate dinner, or even to have drinks with friends as they open until late. Great chill out place on a Friday night 🙂
Me with the other well known food bloggers of today’ s generation 🙂 Thank you for this awesome food fest Lola Cafe and Bar and also to Richie for according me an invite! 🙂
