Book Review: Before I Do

Looks like my 2016 is up to a good start already. Began the year right by meeting with the various Departments regarding our Alignment Plans for this year and I was even offered a 6 month partnership with a Wellness Center/ Spa. I was also handpicked by the Student Council VP to host this year’s Ateneo Freshman Orientation in Graduate School called “Ascend” and another great news was that I was given this opportunity to review this awesome, catty and witty book called “Before I Do”. Yey! πŸ™‚Β

I signed up for this project because the title immediately intrigued my hyper imagination and it actually went overdrive as I began to ponder on what this story has to offer. Tracing back to myΒ previous post regarding this book a lot of questions popped up immediately on my mind like What would you do before finally saying I Do? Any regrets? Last minute hesitations? Are you fully committed to make it work despite losing the passion and the spark in your relationship? What if everything goes downhill and stale? What if it doesn’t work out? What if?? A lot of What if’s entered my mind immediately. Because no matter how much we deny it every girl secretly wants her dream wedding πŸ™‚

As I began perusing over the book relishing each page and imagining the story as it slowly unfolds right before my very eyes. I could not help but be more and more hooked on the story of the characters since it was very realistic and you can really feel the raw emotions as you slowly pore over the words and the sentence constructions.

The pretty and witty writer who bears an uncanny resemblance to our protagonist Kit in the story and her real life husband who also bears a resemblance to the love of her life in the book.

I would not be a spoiler here and reveal all those juicy details and emotional drama moments as Kit (Our Main Girl) was going through the stages of sorting out her real feelings for her boyfriend of more than 3 years who in the latter part would be her fiance! πŸ™‚ This was for me one of the most exciting parts of the story as he plops over to one knee and asks for her hand in marriage! πŸ™‚ I was like a little girl once again getting giddy at the edge of my seat imagining myself at that point in time. πŸ™‚ My palms were getting all sweaty in anticipation of the next unfolding of events to come! πŸ™‚

A definite must read πŸ™‚

However, why is it that as human beings and as ladies with incessant mood swings we are never content with the things laid out for us? We snagged the man of our dreams, we have the most beautiful silver gold band on our ring finger as a sign of eternal commitment and love from the guy that we adored and loved so dearly. We have a stable stream of income from a work which gets us free passes to events and we get to attend the most elusive events in the metro as part of our job. What can be better right?? πŸ™‚ That’s what I thought too but I guess you can never be so sure with anything in this life.

Would she get the guy of her dreams and her dream wedding? Would the wedding push through despite all the turmoil and issues? Would she fall in love with another guy before her wedding? What if Denver (Her Piolo Pascual Hot Attorney Bestfriend) professes his love for her all throughout the years? Or what if there’s another cute guy in the picture? This my loves is what we have to look out for as we slowly dissect the story of our main girl Kit and the hurdles she have to go through to sort out all her deep seated issues. Looks like there really is more than what meets the eye. πŸ™‚ As what they say, the story continues…
