Last Friday February 14, 2014 Jollibee held an exclusive media premier at My Cinema in Greenbelt 3, members of the press were treated to an advanced viewing of 4 heart warming “Mga Kuwentong Pilipinong pinasarap ng Jollibee” videos.

I didn’t really know what to expect at first honestly maybe it was because I was quite haggard during that day commuting from South to North and then back to the South again. We were told that the program would commence at around 6 pm however since we were still waiting for some Officers from Jollibee we were offered some snacks and refreshments first to keep us entertained along with the string quartet playing on the other side of the buffet spread.
Ginger Cornejero was the lovely host that night. She was very pleasant to talk to and very down to earth I must say. We made some small talk before the program started since we were both there early 🙂

When the program began we were shown their new TV Commercials to be launched early next month and I did not expect myself to be moved by the emotional connection that it presented to it’s audience. I even teared up a little since they really felt relatable and very sincere. It depicts of how Jollibee the well loved Fast Food Chain has touched our lives since we were little kids until the time we started dating and then eventually matured to become family men and women.
The stories are told through the eyes of a real-life and long-time store manager, who through 22 years have seen more than her fair share of families bonding at Jollibee, which has served as a happy second home for most Filipinos. This is captured in the omnibus video which ties all the stories together.
Check out their stories here.
The “ALMUSAL” video features an old couple who regularly gets breakfast at Jollibee, getting the same meals as part of their daily morning routine. The story takes a bitter sweet twist as the husband carries on the breakfast tradition with their daughter when the wife passes away. (This made me tear up as it speaks volumes about lasting love which keeps going strong through the years with Jollibee being a staple part of their lives.)
The “TAGPUAN” video features a young boy who got lost in the mall and was found by his mom at Jollibee. The story capitalizes on accounts of real moms’ precautionary practice of telling their kids to go to the nearest Jollibee store if they get separated at the mall.
Emphasizing how Jollibee’s influence is strongest among kids, the “JABEE” TVC features a toddler who’s first word is “Jabee” (baby talk for ‘Jollibee’), and he utters this line all throughout the day, signifying his fondness for the brand.
(This one also touched my heart strings since being a Jollibee kid myself every Sunday before after mass we would be thrilled by just the thought of my Mom bringing us to our favorite bee place to taste their yummy ChickenJoy and Burger Steaks.
Watch out for the coming out of their videos soon.. 🙂
