It’s been almost 2 weeks since I last updated my blog. A few even messaged me on the lack of blog posts these past few months. I guess that I just had too many things going on in my life at that moment that sometimes I just need to STOP. PAUSE and LOOK BACK on my goals and check if I was on track with everything. I usually write based on my emotions.
I can say that most of the time when I write my emotions are at it’s peak or when I’m melancholic I tend to express my feelings and just put everything out in writing.

Generally 2016 was the year that had gone by so quickly. I could not just compress into one blogpost everything that had transpired so I’ll just brush up on the highlights of my 2016 for every passing month.
It had truly been an eye opening year for me taking me through the highs and lows of life. From being in a relationship to being single, to changing my blog name to taking more risks, going out of my comfort zone, making new friends, rekindling old relationships, finding out your true passion and loving yourself more. 🙂 So with that said let me take you on a quick tour on my 2016 journey.
I firmly believe that the reason of our existence here in this world is to find our true passion and help others to the best of our abilities by honing our God given talents to make this world a better place. You have to get LOST sometimes in order to be found and no one can find yourself better than YOU. So join me and my monthly journey as I slowly discover what’s real from what’s not and as I enjoy things that really matter to me.
January 2016
January had been a good start since I was tasked to host our Orsem (Orientation Seminar) for the new MBA students in Ateneo. Thank you to Aly (Our VP in our Student Council) for getting me to host this event.
Feb 2016
It was the birthday of my Mom and we celebrated with the whole family. I learned that in life there are no shortcuts and everything isn’t handed to you on a silver platter .
What is better and more fulfilling is the hard work and effort you put into reaching your goals and carving out your own niche in this crowded world and making your mark in other people’s lives. You know people will always forget your name but they will never forget how you made them feel. A lot of bonding moments with my friends from MBA also happened here. Since my classes were scheduled on Saturdays we would usually have dinners after class whether it maybe at the Fort or in Rockwell it was always a great time with these guys.

March – April 2016
Time to hit the beach this summer was our motto for these months. March and April were spent hitting the beaches and camping out in the mountains. I went out of my comfort zone and joined in on a group of total strangers and one blogger friend to camp out and watch an indie music festival while stargazing and traipsing the hills of Quezon. We rode a bus from Cubao all the way to Laguna and then we boarded a jeepney at around 11pm cause the trip was quite long and agonizing that’s why it took us so long to reach our destination. Not even sleeping pills could put me off to sleep, guess I was kind of jittery and fidgety since it was my first time to go with a different group but hey there’s always something new to discover and learn right? Especially with a diverse group of people coming in from all walks of life. You’ll never know, life might just surprise you. 🙂

May -June 2016
These two months were filled with adventures and fun filled activities like trying out the Flying Trapeze in BGC. I was scared out of my wits since I wasn’t really a fan of falling from high skyscrapers or climbing up too high and end up falling. I guess I wasn’t much of an adrenaline junkie with these kinds of things but sometimes you just got to get out there and just trust that someone or something will catch you right? If you fall hard and fast and get bruised or wounded in the process then maybe you should learn your lessons the right way but most importantly what this experience taught me was that I should never quit trying. I should try and try until I get the result that I want.. These adventures wouldn’t be possible without my friend Eco who tagged me along in this awesome ventures.
June was also my birthday month, aside from me having the time of my life in the Hanging Gardens of Antipolo and basking in the well wishes of my friends and family. It was also the month where my sister and cousin both graduated from college. Congrats to our future Doctor and to my SPED Teacher sister. 🙂

July 2016
July was one of the most eventful months of this year because I was finally able to try out Scuba Diving which I had been putting off for the longest time. I was able to bask and see the aquatic wonders of the beaches that Anilao had in store. It was no wonder why a lot of people are enthusiats in this sport because it transports you to a different world down there and it can also be therapeutic since all you hear is the sound of your breathing and your heartbeat.
TBH, I didn’t think that I would be able to wake up and try this sport since I was quite lacking in sleep the night before due to my friends who went all spontaneous on me and drove all the way to Tagaytay which landed us all home at 3am in the morning and I had to wake up at 6am in order to prepare for the long travel ahead. Thanks to A for accompanying me and to Rykiel for entertaining and briefing us about this sport.

This was also the month wherein I was tasked to oversee the Corporate Video shoot of our company and I must say that I enjoyed the whole experience especially with the turnout of the final product.
August 2016
The highlight of this month was perhaps going to Singapore with my friend Kat 🙂 It was my first time to go out of the country with my friend and since we were both left to our own devices. We had to do our research on which places we would prioritize to visit since we had limited resources like time.

September- October 2016
These two months were also filled to the brim with blogging events, work duties and our uphill trek to the Majayjay Falls and also to the windmills of Rizal with my officemates.

I was also tasked by Rue Bourbon to do a quality check on their establishments pretending to be a “Mystery Diner”. I rated their service, staff and food based on their checklist. I got to dine in on all their establishments driving all the way from the North to the South. 🙂 Thanks to those who accompanied me while I was doing my food reviews.

I was also invited to a lot of blogging functions like the product launch of Dearberry at the Marco Polo Hotel in Ortigas and a couple of other events which got me running around like a headless chicken trying to balance everything out. 🙂 I also landed a gig in a Corporate event wherein Me and Saskia served as usherettes for their annual awarding ceremony.

November- December 2016
A lot of food ventures were done in these two months and being the food enthusiat that I was, I always made sure to document everything on camera. My sister also passed the boards just a couple of weeks back and we couldn’t be any more prouder of her. Congrats Sis! 🙂
Me and my Mom also joined in on a fun run and were treated off to a sumptuous buffet breakfast spread right after the run. So much for losing all those calories and unwanted pounds. 🙂

Christenings, Weddings and Halloween parties were also in the pipeline in these past 2 months. I attended 2 christenings in these two months. One was the baby of my officemate Mar and the other one was the baby of my former officemtae Sam who coincidentally were also born in the same month. Both babies were baptized on their 6th month.

Good byes and New Beginnings were also in the line up of events in these past two months. A lot of my office friends resigned to pursue greener pastures and begin anew or maybe they just needed to prioritize their pressing priorities ATM like me 🙂

I also attended the wedding of Tricia Duque since I was the plus one of KD held at the posh halls of Edsa Shangrila and their church rituals were done at the Sanctuario in GH. It was a lovely wedding full of marital bliss and promise. Best wishes to the newly weds 🙂

A lot of other adventures, food trips and noteworthy happenings also transpired but basically these are the major highlights of my 2016. Thank you 2016, you have been great! 🙂 Looking forward to more new beginings and happy moments this 2017. I hope that in the near future I would be able to tick off everything in my bucketlist for the next years to come but that’s for another story. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! 🙂
