A LookBack on my January-July 2017

I miss days like this. Days where I could be myself and just pour out all my thoughts here in my blog. I guess other pressing priorities took over in the last few months but I guess when you love something that much you’ll eventually find a way to go back to it one way or another. Maybe I don’t post as much like I used to but when I do I ensure that it all emanates from my heart and from the deepest recesses of my mind.

With that said, let me first recount the highlights of my 2017 and how it has been one hell of a ride that I would forever cherish πŸ™‚

January 2017

January had been an adjustment period for me since I previously resigned from my employer last December to focus on finishing my thesis. Soon after I submitted my thesis in school I already started scouting for employment in institutions near my place of residence. I guess, God works in mysterious ways since I was able to find a job in a good company near my place.

I also attended some events like the Loreal event wherein we got to experience their long lasting make up line as we did some exhausting sets of various exercises. We also bonded with KD’s friends from the US, who came here for a short vacation.

February 2017

Perhaps the highlight of this month was the Valentine’s day surprise KD decided to mount for me. I wasn’t really expecting anything special since the 14th fell on a working weekday and we both had work early that morning. We had a sumptuous lunch in Sapphire Block Β and then he fetched me from work to go to his dinner reservations wherein I was left in the dark on the specifics. As we alighted from his car I was surprised to see that we actually were in front of the Discovery Suites Hotel where he had made reservations a couple of days before this event. Kudos to him for planning everything out pretty well. It was a sumptuous feast coupled with a romantic ambience and a very nice view from the top of the building overlooking the whole Metro.

This was also the month where I had my defense and successfully passed my STRAMA the capstone course of my MBA journey.

March-May

Nothing really significant happened in these months aside from our Company Outing wherein we got to bond and unwind away from the confines of our office walls. We also had “mermaid lessons”wherein me and my friends got to be mermaids for a day and get to experience how it feels to swim with a tail attached to your body instead of treading on water with your legs. KD and I also tried the very relaxing massage and sumptuous buffet from IM Hotel. It was definitely an experience one for the books!

We also went to an out of town jaunt during one of those long weekends. We decided to head to Bataan to visit his doctor friend Pat who hails from that place and who is also an avid photographer. Thanks to Pat for taking our photos! πŸ™‚

June

June was definitely a note worthy event cause it’s my favorite month due to my birthday πŸ™‚ My workmates, my friends, family and KD all surprised me with a covert birthday celebration in the guise of us crashing a celebration of Fey’s friend. Since it was a Friday, Fey decided to pick me up from work so I had no excuse not to go, we then headed to the newly opened Shabu-Shabu joint in BGC to have dinner as we waited for my other guests to arrive. Unfortuntely they all connived to show up late or not show up to my birthday Shabu-Shabu dinner since they were all waiting for me at this resto-bar in BGC which I had no idea about.

Feeling quite disappointed by the lack of attendees during this day I was already hesitant to head off to the bar to have some drinks with my friends. But Sam, Estelle and Fey urged me to dress up and go since it was my special day.

Upon arriving at the venue everything was in pitch black except for the band which was playing in the centerstage. Their songs were all great by the way,it was all of my favorite songs being played during that night I didn’t know if it was part of the plan all along but I loved every song belted out by the band πŸ™‚

There was a function room on the side of the bar and when I opened it, all my loved ones from my classmates in MBA, my workmates before in SLMC and PPHC and my family and other friends all greeted me in unison a “Happy Birthday” I was dumbfounded to be honest since I wasn’t really expecting anything like this especially since KD hasn’t met all of my friends yet. Turns out before he left for his trip, he was covertly organizing this surprise birthday bash for me with my good friend Fey and our friend Mara.

I was speechless and very elated at the same time since I didn’t know how to express my surprise and overwhelming feeling that night. πŸ™‚ It was definitely a birthday I would forever treasure πŸ™‚

July

July was the month wherein me and my friends took a vacation to the pristine shores of Palawan. Our plane tickets were already booked last November 2016 since Cebu Pacific had a promo fare during that time. It was a trip to remember. To know more about what transpired during that trip check out my post here.
