Achieving work- life balance is never an easy feat, but allowing yourself to indulge in a little “solo-time”, even for just an hour, is a great way to start balancing out your career and your personal life. Before you head home (or even during your lunch break), treat yourself to a quick massage, or better yet, get a fresh manicure because a mani-pedi session is always a quick way to feel pampered, especially with nail salons that go beyond delivering a simple mani and pedi service, offering complimentary massages and even detoxifying hand, foot, and skin treatments!
Being on the go, most days, from taking shop orders, to doing work reports for my day job to spontaneously checking on the current stocks that we have at home and planning our menu / dinner for the night, to playing with my infant son, drafting blog posts and updating my ads online, checking if they are performing and tweaking the targeting to ensure that it delivers. We, women are truly super women and sometimes all we need is a breather from the daily humdrum of life.
So just last week, Aldous , invited some video creators/ vloggers and me to the Connecticut branch of Nail IT Salon wherein they specialize in perfecting your tips from their signature mani-pedi to the gel and powder polishes to other pampering and beauty treatments like the lash extensions, foot spa and massages to ease all your stress away.
Since I came from Pampanga earlier that morning with my Husband to look at a possible investment, I arrived in a little later than the other girls at the venue. Good thing with the new normal, not everyone had their treatment at the same time and soon after I arrived most of them were already done and were about to leave.
Attending this event, made me realize all the more how much I missed writing, blogging, attending events, catching up with friends and meeting new people from all walks of life. Via, one of my good friends from blogging way back in the day was also there with her sister. They own and manage a start-up cosmetics company now and she is also a very hands-on full-time Mom to her firstborn. 🙂
I was actually amazed at how far she had already come along, from starting out from scratch to slowly growing her brand. Catching up with her while we were being attended to for our treatments made it more exciting and fun!
Looking around the place situated the at parking lot of Connecticut GH, Nail IT, manages to comply with the new normal with their disinfecting stuff situated at the entrance of the place.
Their staff were all also wearing their PPE’s, Faceshields and masks too. They offered us 3 treatments to choose from (Lash Extensions, Gel/ Powder Mani-Pedi or a Footspa). Since I have something coming up this weekend in Tagaytay, I chose the gel polish so that my nails would look seamless and posh during our 3-day out of town trip.
For those, not familiar with what a “Gel Polish” is, here’s a briefer on it: A gel manicure is a service that uses a gel-based polish and requires a UV or LED light to cure the polish and lock it onto your nails, “Gel polish is more durable than regular polish,” she says. And while regular polish can chip as quick as two to three days, gel stays chip-free for weeks.
While gel manicures look just like your regular old mani, the added benefits are that they last longer and feel sturdier. Plus, the beauty of a gel manicure is that anyone can get one, whether your nails are super short or Kylie Jenner-long.
The biggest pro of gel manis is how long they last. “Gel manicures could last up to two weeks with proper nail prep and at-home care, such as cuticle oil and hand lotion,”But if you’re really careful, they can last up to four weeks.
If you have a bunch of events coming up gels can be the perfect solution.
I loved how professional everyone was, from explaining the difference between the gel polish to that of the acrylic ones to donning on all the required protective equipment and suggesting the polish colors which would compliment my skin tone. I definitely enjoyed my pampering session at this Nail It branch and might just go back for another one after our long weekend.
