I believe that as women our crowning glory is of course our hair. Sometimes just the right color and the right cut would do wonders on how you look. It can accentuate your features and make you look like you just came out from a magazine cover or it can also make you look like a rag doll with unkempt shaggy hair if not done right.
However with our busy schedules who has the time to go to salons nowadays right? Especially when you think that everything has been going on haywire as of late. But of course, we could not discount the fact that truly getting the right treatment for our manes can do wonders for us. Even as a kid I have been quite experimental with my hair trying out various colors like red, ash blonde, going pitch black and mahogany brown trying to find the color which would suit me the best and accentuate my features all the more. Of course, the thought of coloring my hair blue, pink or green also crossed my mind before but to not freak my Mother or my Grandmother out I opted to just stay with the basics. 🙂
As time progressed eventually, my strands became dry, brittle and all the more damaged due to the constant treatments. So I had to resort to having these monthly hair spa and hot oil sessions from my salon to mend my brittle hair strands and bring it back to life hoping that somehow it would do my hair wonders. I have long searched for a hair treatment which would rejuvenate my strands and bring back its natural shine lost by the constant treatments, coloring and ironing that my hair suffers on a regular basis. I have also heard of the treatment called “Brazilian Blowout” from a friend before but decided not to pursue it due to the hefty price tag that came along with it.
So when my blogger friend Michelle from Rockstarmomma messaged me about this new concept salon along the confines of Congressional Avenue who specializes on treatments like these I just knew in my heart that I could not pass up this chance. So after having lunch with my family, I drove to check out this newly opened joint 🙂
As we all know our hair is every girl’s crowning glory right? Sometimes whenever I lack the time to comb through my stands after I came from the shower and I am rushing to go to an event or to work my friends would comment “Mahangin ba sa labas?” wherein they would point to my unkempt mane and motion for me to comb it carefully once again 🙂
To be honest, I have already tried various shades on my hair but not too extreme though or else my Mom would reprimand me and maybe send me out of the house until I change it back to something more natural looking say maybe blue? or purple?. Haha. Kidding. But yeah I have already tried a lot of colors guess I love experimenting on which would look good on me. From brown, to ash blonde, to ruby red, to jet black I have tried to find the perfect match for my yellow tinged Asian skin tone 🙂 Any suggestions for my next hair color and style? 🙂
They say that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder right? So why do girls chase after those good looking modelesque guys with those taut 6 pack washboard abs 🙂 Why not go for those guys who have a great sense of humor? An Intelligent Mind with whom you can have intellectual discourses with and someone with that CONFIDENCE X Factor? 🙂
Before you even widen your eyes and ask yourself if you read it right, let’s clear one thing: “sakto” shouldn’t be taken as synonymous to “average.” Sure, average guys are still capable of attracting certain girls, but the truth is most women aren’t satisfied with the basics. Men being merely pogi isn’t that exciting for them anymore either. “We want more!” 🙂 Comes the clamor of more and more women of this generation.
It has so far been a whirlwind of events again for me the past few weeks since school started once again and work had been nothing short of amazing. They say that when you choose a job you should also choose a boss you can be comfortable working with, comfortable discussing your career plans and probably the things you need to further hone and improve your skills.
I was glad that for the past year or so since I’m already turning a year older in our company and another year older also in my age since June 3 marks my natal day my boss had been supportive since Day 1 teaching me things beyond my comfort zone and being supportive in my studies.
I can’t believe that it has almost been a week again since I last updated my blog haha. Guess time flies when you’re having too much fun! 🙂 The past week had been mostly a blur for me.
I just got back from my first ever backpacking/ camping mountain trip from the lush mountains of Quezon 🙂 We stargazed in our tents while listening to the awesome tunes by the various indigenous bands who played at the recently concluded Music Festival in Dolores Quezon and our exams for school just finished! 🙂 Yey! 🙂 I can already feel the sembreak vibes creeping up on me 🙂
It’s Sunday once again and another week is about to commence tomorrow so I better get started on my blogging duties so that I would not forget the pertinent details and events which transpired last week.
We all want to be better in one way or another whether it’s improving your make up skills taking tips from your favorite beauty bloggers, or aiming for that medal upon graduation while downing in cups of coffee just to finish off your thesis as it keeps you up in the wee hours of the morning or whether it is achieving that summer body since summer is already felt outside the confines of our homes and schools as the sweltering heat of the sun makes me want to stay indoors most of the time these days.
Yesterday I was invited over to the Jr. NBA and Jr. WNBA Regionals at the Don Bosco Makati Technical Institute. I wasn’t really keen on what to expect on that date since I wasn’t really a sports blogger or writer for that matter and I just cover events which pique my interest which are usually geared towards food, fashion or lifestyle for that matter. However since it was a Sunday and my schedule wasn’t as packed as before I decided to visit and check this event out.
To get a bird’s eye view of what I’m talking about check out my previous post here.
