It’s that time of the year again! 🙂 The Mid- Autumn Mooncake Festival wherein we get to taste this delicious delicacies with their sweet fillings like red bean, ube and the likes. 🙂 For those not familiar with Moon cakes here’s a quick briefer on some flavors which to try and other extreme flavors! 🙂 Check this out.
A lot of changes will be happening to me this coming 2015 not only in my career, in my blogging life and my eating habits but also in other aspects of my life. That’s a good thing right? Well yeah, I guess because the only way to grow is to be open to various changes and accept the opportunities that come your way right?
Anyway, sorry for not having the luxury of time to update my blog as frequently as before. I have just been preoccupied with a lot of things as of late and due to the holiday season a lot of things had also been going around for me. Not that I’m complaining though 🙂 So without further ado, let me again get started on my next blog post. How I spent my New Year! 🙂 By the way, Happy New Year everyone! 🙂 I hope you had a blast as much as I did! 🙂
Me and my friends are quite different in more ways than one but what binds us together is our ultimate love for adventure and trying out new things. YOLO! 😀 You only live once right? So anyway, moving on we heard about this new place that recently opened in both Eastwood and Jupiter Street in Makati at the old RCBC building (note: I was already spooked upon entering the vicinity since the place was quite dilapidated and outdated which adds up to the creepy feel of the place, the elevator too was sort of an old school lift which bores an uncanny resemblance to the one in most horror flicks that I watched). Too much movies I guess! 🙂
I have always established travel and adventure goals since I was a child like traveling to at least two domestic destinations and one international destination every year, climbing a mountain while completing a 5k run, watching the sun rise and sun set as I sit back and relax along the mountainside, joining a fun run with some hurdles scattered along the way, solving mysteries with your friends as you escape from the pitch black dark room, screaming my lungs out as I got chased by corpses and zombies in Scream park with my friends, watching an International Broadway play, riding a go kart & jet ski, riding a camel, seeing the windmills, patting a tiger without getting bitten, learning pottery, coursing through the raging rapids, cruising along a lake while singing and eating, island hopping to various virgin islets and snorkeling to see the corals and various underwater treasures and fishes. Seeing new sights, museums and tasting various cuisines in some hole in the wall food joints. I feel quite blessed since I was able to accomplish all of my goals so far and I am looking forward to ticking most of them off in my bucket list. Yey! 😀
Another food trip down memory lane, in this case down the Bonifacio High Street Lane. We came across this new joint which happened to be a brainchild of Senator Pia Cayetano called “Slice” it advocates healthy dishes (Except for their desserts) perhaps since she is a triathlete on the side, one of the many hats she wears.
Looking for a new chill out place along the confines of Katipunan Avenue with such reasonable prices to boot? Well then, this is the new restaurant, bar and grill for you. They are situated along 47 Xavierville Avenue Loyola Heights Quezon City and are operating even in the wee hours of the weekend (Friday & Sat 6pm-2:30 am) and on Sunday at (6pm- 1am).
Miss those Cantina days? or those Meatshop Days with your friends? Well then, fret no more because Loading Point is here to stay. This is actually a casual, laid back resto- bar which is an ideal place for you and your friends to just chill out have some drinks and toast some cheers to the freaking weekend. It offers such a casual vibe which helps you unwind, relax and just have a great time while sipping some cocktails and some concoctions from their bar.
It was exactly this day: August 16 in the evening only 57 years ago when my uncle was born. He wasn’t really fond of parties much more celebrating his own natal day so we were quite surprised when he invited us over to their residence in Tierra Pura to celebrate his birthday with him and his family.
“What started off as a family pastime for a mother and daughter tandem has now developed into a full fledged bakery café business with the aim of satisfying our customers’ cravings for traditional home cooked meals and fresh out of the oven pastries and baked goodies.”
I got this from their website. Since it’s quite a rare occasion that all four of us are together on a weekend (Me, Mom, Krizel and Mikey) because I usually have work on the weekends or Mom has a trip out of town due to work. We decided to head out after much resting at home to bond and beautify ourselves. 🙂 Mom had her hair washed and colored while my sister had her nails treated to a posh manicure while my baby brother had his hair trimmed since he was bored with watching all of us girls pampering ourselves and he was left to his own devices to entertain himself. (Haha! Sorry Mikey that’s one of the perks of living in a household full of girls).
Since my Mom, monitors all the predominant big key hospitals in the Medical Industry she sometimes passes by my work place to monitor how their company sales are going along and of course to see me and treat me to some snacks or lunch. (What a sweet and thoughtful Mom! Love you!). So moving on, I was going about my work one fine day as usual when Mom called me up and said “I’m here now at the Ground Floor, Are you free?” Good thing I was already out of duty that time so we decided to grab a delectable meal in Mary Grace.
Mary Grace, has carved a name for itself due to its delectable desserts like the black velvet, apple pies, heavenly cheese rolls and melt-in-your mouth ensaymadas. My favorite of all time is their Creamy Carbonara pasta, come pay day me and my friends would usually head out here to treat ourselves to some pasta and sweets. Mom decided to try something new this time around and ordered the Peach Iced Tea (Mind you, this was really good! The specs of sugar can be really tasted in this drink).
